ATP Rotterdam Betting Preview Day 3 | Best ATP Rotterdam Bets for February 14
Our ATP Rotterdam betting preview takes a look at the best bet for the first round matchups on Wednesday, February 14.
With eight matches on the day in both the first and second-rounds, there is a lot of value here to find the best ATP bets of the day at our top rated sportsbooks.
Roman Safiullin vs Holger Rune Betting Prediction
Our next ATP Rotterdam betting preview features the 39th ranked Russian Roman Safiullin against 7th ranked Holger Rune of Denmark.
These two have played their only ever meeting earlier this season, where Rune won 6-4 7-6 in the semifinal of Brisbane on outdoor hard courts.
Roman Safiullin Current Form
This will be Safiullin’s first match since the Australian Open, where he was up 2-0 on Tallon Griekspoor before losing in a tight five-setter in the first round.
He previously had a solid showing in Brisbane, where he won as a +130 underdog against American Ben Shelton in the first round. He then beat Alexei Popyrin and Matteo Arnaldi as a favorite before losing to Rune as a +140 underdog.
Holger Rune Current Form
It hasn’t been the start to the season that Holger Rune was hoping for as the Dane crashed out early in the Australian Open and Montpellier after losing the final in Brisbane.
In his last tournament, Rune opened up with two easy wins against Challenger-level Pable Llamas Ruiz and Michael Mmoh. However, he lost the semifinal as a -220 favorite against Croat Borna Coric when he was forced to retire in the second set due to a forearm injury.
In the AO, Rune beat Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan in the first round before French youngster Arthur Cazaux upset him as a +450 underdog in the second round.
Roman Safiullin vs Holger Rune Betting Pick
We were very shocked to see that Holger Rune is only a -125 favorite in this matchup. Our best bet is Rune to win at -125 and you can bet it all the way to -150 at DraftKings Sportsbook.
One of the concerns is likely his fitness after being forced to retire in his last ATP match. However, last week Rune played in the UTS Oslo where he lost an incredibly close match to Casper Ruud.
Rune is the much better player between the two and has already won a matchup between them this season. With any injury concerns alleviated by his play in the UTS, he should win in straight sets.
Milos Raonic vs Alexander Bublik Betting Prediction
The next match we offer up at ATP Rotterdam Betting Preview for is the afternoon match between Canadian Milos Raonic and Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan.
This is the second meeting between the pair. The Canadian won their first meeting in St. Petersburg 6-3 6-2 back in 2020 on the same indoor hard surface they will be playing on today.
Milos Raonic Current Form
Raonic enters the match as a “semi-retired” player that is attempting a comeback on tour, but playing limited matches due to his health issues.
This will only be the big-serving Canadian’s sixth tournament in the last eight months. He was forced to retire in the first round of the Australian Open due to back pain after taking the first set from 10th-ranked Alex De Minaur as a +600 underdog.
In his first match in Rotterdam, Raonic won 97% of his first serve points against local Jesper de Jong. Raonic did generate eight break points but only took one, being good enough for a 7-6 6-4 victory.
Alexander Bublik Current Form
Bublik is coming off a title win in Montpellier two weeks ago, where he had to battle hard to win all four of his matches in three sets.
The quality of his opponents in Montpellier was quite solid, as he bested Denis Shapovalov, Alexander Shevshenko, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Borna Coric to take the title.
In a rematch of the Montpellier final, Bublik defeated Coric rather easily with a 6-3 6-4 first round win in Rotterdam.
Milos Raonic vs Alexander Bublik Betting Pick
Our best bet for this match is Bublik -1.5 games at -130 at Bet365.
Bublik comes into this match in great form, having battled hard in Montpellier to leave as tournament champion. Following up with a straight-sets win over Coric, Bublik is definitely at his best on indoor hard.
Raonic did win their only matchup quite easily, but that was four years ago. Just a shell of his former self, Raonic is completely reliant on his first serve with his current game. If Bublik can hold his serve and find one break in the match, he can easily cover the small 1.5 game spread.
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Andrey Rublev Betting Prediction
Finally, we take a look at the last match of the night that puts two players moving in complete opposite directions against each other. Having both started last season in the top 10, Canadian Auger-Aliassime now sits at 28th in the world while Russian Rublev is currently the 5th-ranked player in the world.
These two are quite familiar with each other, having played four official tour matches and one exhibition. Rublev has won three of the four matches on tour, however Auger-Aliassime won their only meeting in Rotterdam in 2022 6-7 6-4 6-2.
Felix Auger-Aliassime Current Form
As as been the case with Auger-Aliassime in the last year, it has been difficult for him to put a string of wins together.
Felix opened the year with a shocking loss to Daniel Altmaier as a -250 favorite. In the Australian Open he was able to beat Dominic Thiem and Hugo Grenier before a third-round exit to eventual finalist Medvedev.
Marseille saw him beat Frenchman Quintin Halys 6-2 7-5 in the first round before bowing out to Zhizhen Zhang in a 6-4 6-4 loss while battling a flu.
In his first match in Rotterdam, Auger-Aliassime was able to sneak past American Maxime Cressy in a pair of tiebreaks.
Andrey Rublev Current Form
Rublev was one of our best bets of the day yesterday to win 2-0 over Belgian Zizou Bergs, which he did comfortably. Taking the match 7-5 6-3 over the young Belgian, Rublev will be dealing with a big step up in competition today.
He had a solid run in Melbourne, surviving a scare in the first-round to defeat Thiago Seyboth Wild in five sets. He then straight-setted Chris Eubanks and Sebastian Korda before coming from a set down to knock off 10th ranked Alex De Minaur.
Before the AO, Rublev won the ATP Hong Kong title only dropping two sets in four matches.
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Andrey Rublev Betting Pick
Our best bet for this match is Andrey Rublev -2.5 games -110 at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Both of these players have won at Rotterdam with Rublev victorius in 2021 and Auger-Aliassime the following year.
The big difference between the pair is the inconsistency of Felix in the past year. Rublev is always guaranteed to show up and provide a tough task for his opponents, while the Canadian often lacks confidence in his shots and commits too many errors.
It’s really hard to see Felix being able to win this match and with Rublev being able to find at least one break, he will be able to cover the 2.5 game spread with straight sets win.
