ATP Rotterdam Betting Preview Day 2 | Best ATP Rotterdam Bets for February 13
Our ATP Rotterdam betting preview takes a look at the best bet for the first round matchups on Monday, February 12.
With seven matches on the slate for the day, we will take a look at the best tennis bets for today’s matchups in the Netherlands.
Zhizhen Zhang vs Alexander Shevshenko Betting Prediction
This matchup sees the 27 year old from China take on the younger Kazakhstani player, who is 23 years old.
This is the first time that the two have played against each other at any level.
Zhizhen Zhang Current Form
Zhang prefers slower hard courts like Rotterdam, which immediately puts him in an advantage for this match. Last week in the Open 13 in Marseille, Zhang reached the quarterfinals by beating Giulio Zeppieri in three sets before taking out 7th-seed Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4 6-4.
Zhang ultimately fell to Karen Khachanov 6-4 6-1, overmatched by the Russian’s 88% winning of first serves. He was unable to manage a break point in the match, while being broken three times himself.
Alexander Shevchenko Current Form
Shevshenko was knocked out of the Open 13 when he ran into the #1 seed Hubert Hurkacz in the second round. He fell 6-1 6-4 to the Pole, who hit 13 aces and won 81% of his first serve points to cruise to an easy victory.
In the first round, Shevchenko won a hard-fought battle against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi.
Zhizhen Zhang vs Alexander Shevshenko Betting Pick
With both players listed at -110 (1.90) at Bet365, the odds show that this should be a close match.
Our best bet is Zhang to win at -110. At 27, Zhang is playing the best tennis of his career and has become the first Chinese player to reach the top-50 of the ATP rankings in the Open Era.
We believe this match will be similar to Zhang’s victory over Auger-Aliassime, where the Chinese player will be able to defend to induce errors from Shevchenko. On these slow hard courts, Zhang can grind out points by counter-attacking to create opportunities, especially on return.
Zizou Bergs vs Andrey Rublev Betting Prediction
Our next ATP Rotterdam betting preview features the 132nd ranked Belgian Zizou Bergs against 5th ranked Andrey Rublev of Russia.
Like the first matchup we previewed, this is the first time that the two have played against each other.
Zizou Bergs Current Form
Bergs comes into the matchup having won four straight matches since losing a first-round Challenger matchup to David Goffin in three sets in Belgium.
Since that loss, Bergs had a strong showing in the Davis Cup, winning two singles matches against Croatia. The 24 year old had a minor upset against veteran Marin Cilic in three sets before beating Duje Ajdukovic 6-1 7-5.
Bergs came through qualifying in Rotterdam, dispatching Juri Rodionov 6-4 7-5 and Giulio Zeppieri 6-3 7-5 to reach the main draw.
Andrey Rublev Current Form
The 26 year old Russian is playing his first match since the Australian Open, where he reached the quarterfinals before losing to eventual champion Janik Sinner in straight sets.
He had a solid run in Melbourne, surviving a scare in the first-round to defeat Thiago Seyboth Wild in five sets. He then straight-setted Chris Eubanks and Sebastian Korda before coming from a set down to knock off 10th ranked Alex De Minaur.
Before the AO, Rublev won the ATP Hong Kong title only dropping two sets in four matches.
Zizou Bergs vs Andrey Rublev Betting Pick
Rublev is a sizable favorite in the matchup, with his best odds listed at -500 from Caesars Sportsbook. Bergs is a +400 underdog at Bet365.
Our best pick for this match is Andrey Rublev to win 2-0 at -175 at Caesars Sportsbook. Bergs has his moments, but losing in the first round of a Challenger in his last tournament against a solid player in Goffin shows he still has a long way to go.
Rublev is a much better version of Goffin, with an all-around game that will overwhelm his younger opponent.
Hubert Hukacz vs Jiri Lehecka Betting Prediction
Finally, we take a look at the last match of the evening session, where the #4 seed Hubert Hurkacz of Poland takes on Jiri Lehecka of Czechia.
This is also the first time that the two have ever played each other.
Hubert Hurkacz Current Form
Hurkacz enters the match after a great start to the year, having won seven of his nine tour matches.
The big-serving Pole cruised to three straight-set matches in Marseille before being bested by eventual champion Ugo Humbert 6-4 6-4 in the semifinals.
At the Australian Open, Hurkacz made it to the quarterfinals where he lost in a close five-setter to the tournament’s runner-up, Daniil Medvedev. En route, he beat Omar Jasika, Jakub Mensik, Humbert and Arthur Cazaux.
Jiri Lehecka Current Form
Lehecka is coming off a disappointing showing in Marseille where he was knocked out in the second round by Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets as a -220 favorite.
Getting to the second round was a miracle, as his first round match saw David Goffin choke away a 5-2 lead in the second set to allow Lehecka to win in three sets.
Lehecka won an easy Davis Cup match against Daniel Cuckierman the week before as a -800 favorite.
Hubert Hurkacz vs Jiri Lehecka Betting Pick
Our best bet for this match is Hubert Hurkacz -1.5 sets at +110 at Bet365.
In his last three matches, Lehecka has won under 70% of his first serve points. Despite the perception that Hurkacz is only a player with a big serve, he has greatly improved his return game in the last year.
The Pole should be able to hold serve comfortably while creating opportunities on Lehecka’s serve. The loss to Rinderknech and being down 3-6 2-5 against Goffin show that the Czech is having issues holding serve on the slow hard courts.
